Improve Soil Health With Cascade Minerals: Application How-To’s

Soil

It’s the month of June and gardens (and gardeners) everywhere are in full swing! One of the questions that people frequently ask us is, “Is it too late to apply Cascade Minerals?”

The answer is an emphatic “Not at all!” It’s never too late to improve soil health.

Although pre-plant incorporation is ideal, top-dressing with Cascade Minerals Remineralizing Soil Booster will make a noticeable difference in the health of your soil thanks to the release of essential mineral and nutrients that your plants need. You’ll enjoy the benefits of healthier plants and higher yields throughout the entire growing season of your garden.

When we say “top-dressing,” we simply mean scratching the product into the soil lightly. It is important to remember that Cascade Minerals is not a fertilizer or synthetic chemical. Made from finely ground volcanic basalt rock, it contains only naturally occurring minerals and trace elements. When used as directed, it is safe to use around kids and pets.

The following are suggested minimum application rates:

Shrubs: 1 cup of Cascade Minerals per 1 inch of trunk diameter. Allow minerals to settle overnight and water thoroughly the next day. Apply once per month.

Gardens: 10 lbs of Cascade Minerals per 100 square feet (10×10.) Rake or lightly till Cascade Minerals into soil. Apply once per month.

Flowering Plants: 1 cup of Cascade Minerals lightly raked into the soil around your plants. Apply once per month.

Roses: Lightly dust foliage with Cascade Minerals once per month during the blooming season.

Lawns: 5 to 10 lbs of Cascade Minerals per 200 square feet of lawn (10×20). Apply using a lawn spreader or by hand. For best results apply after aeration.

Composts: Mix 2-3 cups of Cascade Minerals per cubic foot, lightly water as needed.

House Plants: For best results mix Cascade Minerals with potting soil blends prior to planting using 1-2 cups of Cascade Minerals per gallon of potting soil. For surface application, use 1-2 tsp of Cascade Minerals per every inch of pot diameter and lightly stir into the top of the soil.
